Rules

In the Rules below, participants in Mission ImPERTHable on Sunday 8 April 2018 are referred to as "Agents”. These Rules are referred to in the Terms and Conditions which every participant must understand and accept.

ENTRY CRITERIA
Everyone is welcome! With a strictly limited number of places, entries are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

SQUAD CAPTAINS

Every Squad must have a Captain who is responsible for ensuring that all squad members (or if under 18, their parents or guardians), have read and agreed to the Terms and Conditions and have ensured that each squad member understands them.

MOBILE PHONES

All Squad Captains must have a modern Smart phone, either a recent iPhone or an Android. This is a key tool on event day and will be used as the primary method of communicating with Central Intelligence as well as to assist squads to find the Mission locations and to access their points and time remaining data. All squads must have a smart phone with the Code name and Password (provided to you a few days before the event date) entered to participate, as well as a backup smart phone with the Mission ImPERTHable App downloaded. In the unlikely event that the Squad Captain’s phone is lost, incurs a flat battery or runs out of credit; squads may switch to the other mobile phone using the same App, Agent Code name and Password. Should your phone/app fail due to a fault of your own the Mission ImPERTHable organisers will not be held accountable. Make sure you have a fully charged phone or phones ready for the start of the event.

TRANSPORT

Walking, public transport (train, bus or cat bus), wheelchair (including motorised wheelchairs), stroller/pusher and pram are all permissible forms of transport during your participation in the event. Private forms of transport must not be used during the event include bicycles, private motor vehicles (including taxis or ride sharing), motorbikes, scooters, skate-boards, roller-skates or in-line skates. Any squad seen using these forms of transport will be disqualified. For safety reasons of both participants and other city shoppers, participants may not run or jog during the event.

BE STREET SMART

Squad members must adhere to road/pedestrian rules and signals at all times.

DRESS

Agents should dress appropriately for the weather and consume enough food and drink to stay energised and hydrated during the event. Sunscreen and comfortable shoes are also essential Mission ImPERTHable items. Remember - slip, slop, slap! Squads dressed in costume to stay undercover will be eligible for prizes, so make the effort and have even more fun!

NO RUNNING OR JOGGING - NOT EVEN ON GRASSED SURFACES!

Mission ImPERTHable is not a race. If you want to complete as many Missions as possible, you'll have to walk briskly and/or be clever with the way you plan your route to your next Mission.

STICK TOGETHER!

Squads must stick together at all times. Splitting up is NOT allowed. If a squad member needs to pull out, they can do so, however that squad member cannot attempt to participate on their own while the rest of their squad completes different Missions. Mission ImPERTHable spies may ask to see the Captain with their squad of Agents at any point during the Game. Failure to stay together will result in disqualification.

A SQUAD INCLUDES BETWEEN 2 TO 6 AGENTS

After registering; you can send an email to invite friends to be on your squad. They can pay simply by clicking on the link contained in the draft email we’ll send you. Toddlers or child aged 5 years and under have free entry and will not count as one of your Squad members nor will they be eligible for prizes.

SOLVING EACH MISSION

Using their Smartphone, squads will gather information about each Mission and, collectively members solve the challenges, respond as prompted and when correct you will be advised “Mission Completed”. Keep at it until you get it right.

GETTING INTO THE CITY
Agents should utilise Public Transport to get into the City where possible. If you choose to drive into the City, consider downloading the City of Perth’s free parking app. Using the “real-time bay availability” feature will help you plan for your parking more efficiently by allowing you to view exactly how many bays are available, in real time, across 10 of the City of Perth’s major car parks. Public transport is a great way to travel to and from the city for Mission ImPERTHable. Plan ahead and visit http://www.transperth.wa.gov.au/ before the day and find the most efficient route into the City (and home again).

MISSIONS ACCOMPLISHED FASTEST WINS!

At each Mission location you'll be provided with clues and information which assist in completing that Mission. When you choose to “ACCEPT” a new mission, the clock starts and it is the time taken from then to the time you solve the mission by entering the correct answer that determines how good you are. Your squad's ranking is determined by the cumulative time taken for you to complete each individual mission. Your squad may be fastest at one and slower than others at the next one.
Some Missions require Agents to participate in active challenges! So look out for those, they are fun and it’s the time taken from the when you accept the Mission to the time taken to get there and complete the physical mission that determines your score.

TO WIN
The winning squad will be the one which completes all the Missions in the least total time. Time between missions is for Agents to enjoy a coffee or lunch. So relax between missions, there is extra time allowed for most squads to be able to stop off for 30 – 60 minutes and still complete all missions. Your time starts when you accept a Mission and the clock runs until you complete that mission. So coffee between missions, not during.

FUNDRAISE TO WIN

As Mission ImPERTHable is a fundraising event – we encourage all agents to get their squads to raise donations for their squads. Squads that raise money and have it donated through the website prior to the commencement of the event will be given one second per dollar off their time to a maximum of 8 minutes and 20 seconds. In past events, this bonus has meant the difference between winning and not, so get fundraising.

For example:

  • Raise $60 and you'll receive a time bonus of one minute.

  • Raise $180 and you'll receive a time bonus of three minutes.

  • Raise $500 and you'll receive a time bonus of eight minutes and 20 seconds.

The more you raise, the more time bonus you receive up to a maximum of eight minutes and 20 seconds. This time bonus could be the difference you need to win.

MINIMUM DONATION EXPECTED
By registering for this event you are also committing to raising a minimum of $196 for Ronald McDonald House Charities Perth. This final fundraising tally is reflective of the entire squads fundraising goal and is not $196 per individual. Squads who have not raised the minimum of $196 between all squad members will be able to play but will not be eligible to win prizes.

YOUTH TEAMS FUNDRAISING PRIZE ELIGIBILITY
Youth teams of Guides, Scouts and Cubs are eligible for special Youth category prizes regardless of the amount of funds raised. To be eligible for the major adult prizes - trips and accommodation - the minimum must be raised.

PRIZES AND FUN

Entertainment will be provided at Supreme Court Gardens from 2.30pm, so come along and have some fun. Prizes will be awarded from 3.15pm. If the Grand Prize winning Squad cannot be determined on the day it will be announced on the Website and Facebook page as soon as the winner can be determined. Squads must be at Supreme Court Gardens to receive their prize. The prizes will be awarded to the number of Agents officially registered in the squad or the number of participants on the day, whichever is the lesser. Prizes will be awarded as follows:
Grand Prize – Awarded to the squad with the lowest time taken for completion of all missions
Major Prize – Awarded to a random squad on the day - just for playing.
Best Costume – Awarded to the squad with the best costume judged by the crowd
Highest Fundraising – Awarded to the squad which raises the most donations raised before the commencement of the event. NO R

RESPONSIBILITY FOR WRONG ANSWERS

All efforts are made to ensure that solutions to Missions and Challenges are correct however, there may be instances where the circumstances beyond Central Intelligence dictates that a mission solution may not be possible. Central Intelligence will make allowances in this circumstance in fairness to all.

TAX DEDUCTION

Donations to the Mission ImPERTHable Rotary Charity Trust supporting Ronald McDonald House over $2 are fully tax deductible. Your entry fee into the Mission ImPERTHable is not tax deductible.

MISSION PROUD

All Agents must wear the Mission ImPERTHable bib number pinned to the front of their upper body clothing.

THE MISSION SEQUENCE

At the start in Supreme Court Gardens at 11.00am – Agents will accept your first mission. Head to the first Mission location and once you complete that Mission, you will be provided with
details of your next mission which will be different from everyone else so no two squads will follow the same pathway to find the thief!

IF YOU CAN'T GO ON…

During the event, if for whatever reason a squad member is unable to continue (e.g.: tired, feeling ill, had enough of walking etc.), the squad may continue in the event without that person and still be recorded as a fully ranked finishing squad.

RESTING IS NOT FOR WIMPS!

You can take a break at any time during the event. To avoid losing game time you should delay acceptance of your next Mission until you are ready to move on as a squad. There is plenty of time to stop and shop, have a coffee or lunch.

TAKE PART NO MATTER WHAT YOUR ABILITY

An experienced carer should accompany each person with a disability. Mission locations have been selected to minimise access challenges. We encourage people of all abilities to join in the fun in Mission ImPERTHable.

NO REFUNDS

It's all for Charity remember! After the entry fee has been paid, no refunds will be made. All profits from the Event will be to Ronald McDonald House Charities Perth and Rotary Charity Trust.

PLAY FAIR

This event is run under the principles of fair play. Any squad found to be participating in a manner that is contrary to the principles of fair play may be disqualified by the Commander-in-Chief. Anyone found to have hacked or attempting to alter the app database will be instantly disqualified and barred from all future Mission ImPERTHable events.

WIN A PRIZE AND IT'S YOURS AND YOURS ONLY

All prizes awarded are non-transferable. Prizes are final and cannot be exchanged. The prize allocation process will be audited to ensure all prizes are awarded fairly.
